Todays activities

Hello All.

Another busy day today. A meeting in Scunthorpe this morning to discuss the north lincs broadband project. Our allocation is looking very good not least in part due to the distrobution of our small to medium businesses.  A good effort by the BDUK board locally.

Next was a follow up to the alley gating project in the west marsh. I have found a local contact that deals with hull prison who make alley gates there at a vastly reduced cost. Happy days.

After that was a meeting with Cllr Ros James about budget proposals and how the councils priorities fit within this agenda. A difficult time for us all and one which we will keep a close eye on for you.

Then good news about the tractor. We may be auctioning off one from the council that would be perfect for green futures to maintain the river banks of the freshney.  I hope to report a solution soon.

After that a meeting with Grimsby Minster to look into how the future of St James square will pan out. We are looking at xmas markets and the like. Here is hoping.

A conversation with Sarah Impey about troubled families in the area and how we could best intergrate them into the area giving them more ownership in the community. We have arranged a meeting on Friday to look at some projects that they can get their teeth into. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

A follow up with the vice chair of the forward Mrs Pat Wilsea on the subject of commissioning a project based on empty houses to be sent to all partners. It was well recieved and seems to be a go. After we have recieved all the bids we will run a dragons den type approach at the forward and let members vote on their preferred bid.

All in all a very busy time. I'm glad of the opportunity however and wouldn't miss it for the world.
