Lincoln castle

I have been offered the anchor from the lincoln castle by Tony Booth from Tonys autos. I think the friends of the freshney will be able to make a good monument with it. At least some of the Lincoln Castle will still be in the West Marsh.

Empty housing

There is finally some action on the empty homes front from the council. A new trial will be starting soon shared by shoreline and balfour beatty to try to tackle this huge problem. Details are yet to be finalised but it looks like there is definite substance this time. Fingers crossed.

New resource centre

Hi,

Under the freedom of information act could you please inform me what the financial implications the council will hold in respect of the new resource centre being developed on the Nunsthorpe estate. I.e. How much money is the council putting into the project.

Street light unlit

Hi,

A street light is unlit on boulevard ave grimsby. It is on the stretch near to the underpass on the side of boulevard gardens. This underpass is continually used by cyclists on the foot path so any reduction in lighting is a big problem could you please get someone to look at it for me.

Cartergate news and booze

The review of the premises licence was held for the above off licence today which I called in at the end of September. I have to say their legal team was very good and they gave a very good case. But on the back of this they agreed to put stickers on all of the alcohol containers with their details to make sure the police can identify if the sales to the street drinkers are from there. After we called the premises into review all the anti social behaviour stopped. Funny that. And all the drinkers no longer use the area half as much. I think that was worth my grilling earlier.

Death certificates?

Why does it cost 3.50 on the day you take in the death certificate to get a registrars copy. But then it costs 7.00 on the next day. Is it council policy to abuse the bereaved.

Yours offended.

Councillor Darren Billard

P.s. This was raised by councillor Terry Walker whose mother has just passed away Tuesday morning he is however to involved with the matter to speak to you at the moment but I said I would happily take it up in his absence.

Fw: Haycroft street paving

This is an outcry for the elderly of the west marsh. I will not let this one lie. If I do not get a satisfactory response I will be setting up an online petition and talking to the press.

Hi,

Could you please give me a detailed list of these service standards. As far as I am concerned if elderly and disabled people are suffering a reduced quality of life because of shoddy maintenance schedules then we need to take action I will be launching a petition on this issue and taking it to the relevant press.

Dear Councillor Billard

Thank you for your email.I have looked on the system and the feedback
from the highway inspector is as below.

Inspected footpath on 26th October. Noted slight deterioration between
Church and the Bungalows but nothing that meets the Council's Service
Standards to warrant repairs at this time. The next inspection of the
footway will be carried out in November 2011
