Then a good luck at the new OBC's and im away soon to write the report.

After that a bit of hob nobbing at the launch of the Scandinavian air Service Humberside airport.  Unfortunately due to the storm the flight was grounded.

Tuesday

Working on funding for the MAAG hall, Grimsby in bloom and trying to track down a shipping container for St Hugh's community centre. I've found one now I need to acquire it.

A review of the new buisness plan for lincs inspire.

A quick catch up with our future chief exec Rob Walsh.

Troubled famalies

Hello All.

A meeting today with Sarah Impey about the current 12 or so troubled families on the west marsh and how we as a community are going to help them as a community re intergrate.

Sarah has a well defined plan and we have community buy in from several agencies and the residents of the west marsh. I hope this will be a start of the solution that has been needed for years.

If you would like to be involved in the project please email me at darren.billard@nelincs.gov.uk we are especially interested in working with local business.

Thanks

Daz

Todays activities

Hi All.

Another busy day today. An 8 am pre meeting about budget issues. Followed by jeb to discuss the above with the cabinet.

Then a discussion on the support grant given to vulnerable groups for council tax.

A quick meeting to discuss e factor and their future role in our community.

Following that a look at the new outlying business cases for the medium term financial forecast.

Then dividing up the action points given to us by the victims support group. Ian is going to look into the use of school pitches. And I am looking into moving the BT phone box that causes so much anti social behaviour.  BT however have said they will not remove it as it makes too much money. It probably does as it is mostly used by drug dealers to sell their wares.

A quick call to check the progess of the tractor.

Then dealing with ward funding applications.

A tender document has been issued by me today also  that looks to commision local responsible groups to deliver an empty homes project.

And finally full council.  Where we were successful in putting forward a controlled drinking zone motion.

Hope this finds you well.

Hi All.

This morning saw another trip to Scunthorpe for the first project management board. We have had an awesome result on this project so far and im glad to be part of it. For the size of our contribution we must have the best outurn yet.

The a few phone calls to discuss wars issues. Alley gates etc.

After that a trip to the works department with green futures so they could pick the tractor they wanted for use on the river banks.

Then some work on ward funding issues.

And a meeting of a victims support group looking to move forward with a plan to tackle anti social behaviour in the west marsh.

A big day tomorrow mostly taken up by budget discussions.

Todays activities

Hello All.

Another busy day today. A meeting in Scunthorpe this morning to discuss the north lincs broadband project. Our allocation is looking very good not least in part due to the distrobution of our small to medium businesses.  A good effort by the BDUK board locally.

Next was a follow up to the alley gating project in the west marsh. I have found a local contact that deals with hull prison who make alley gates there at a vastly reduced cost. Happy days.

After that was a meeting with Cllr Ros James about budget proposals and how the councils priorities fit within this agenda. A difficult time for us all and one which we will keep a close eye on for you.

Then good news about the tractor. We may be auctioning off one from the council that would be perfect for green futures to maintain the river banks of the freshney.  I hope to report a solution soon.

After that a meeting with Grimsby Minster to look into how the future of St James square will pan out. We are looking at xmas markets and the like. Here is hoping.

A conversation with Sarah Impey about troubled families in the area and how we could best intergrate them into the area giving them more ownership in the community. We have arranged a meeting on Friday to look at some projects that they can get their teeth into. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

A follow up with the vice chair of the forward Mrs Pat Wilsea on the subject of commissioning a project based on empty houses to be sent to all partners. It was well recieved and seems to be a go. After we have recieved all the bids we will run a dragons den type approach at the forward and let members vote on their preferred bid.

All in all a very busy time. I'm glad of the opportunity however and wouldn't miss it for the world.

Todays events

Hello All.

Busy one today. Apointments comittee this morning followed by finding an owner of a problem property for the police and asking community pride to investigate it.

Then organising the date for the community orchard.

Followed by funding for the above and sending out cdf funding bids to the panel.

A chat with the vice chair of the west marsh forward Pat Wilsea who is still off her feet about what we are going to do with the housing money. We have decided to commission an organisation to use the money for a project in the west marsh and get them to put a bid in perhaps after that have a meeting of the forward with the top three bids presenting to us. Voted on by all present.

I nipped to the community centre for a chat with Neil Barber. General issues were raised there.

Then a meeting with the dwp about job fairs and how we can work with them to get more people in the area into work.

Now im going to ring an officer about providing a tractor to maintain the riverbanks with.

Another busy one tomorrow too.

Regards

Daz
