Adult social care

Hi All.

Discussions at JEB yesterday around the cost of adult social care and around the public health budget and what we are going to do about it.

Difficult decisions ahead. We have £30 million to remove from our budget in the next two years. What would you do if half of your income was removed. 

Also the next forward meeting will be a highways special attended by cofley and the council. Dont miss your chance to have your say. 17th September 6:30 pm at the West Marsh Community Centre. 

Funding for the flail arm mower has been found and I await the purchase by green futures.

A multi agency meeting was held at the community center to discuss the issues around crime, troubled families, domestic abuse, offender engagement and other big issues affecting the West Marsh. Good positives came out of it and im ever hopeful the positive impact on the area will continue.

Empty homes

A tour of the west marsh today with our new finance director to look at empty homes and how we could possibly break the cycle with a small capitol outlay.

Alley gates

Hi All. 

Three more alley gates brought back into use in the west marsh yesterday.  This is turning out to be a fantastic project and well received. 

I was also contacted by a resident today regarding benifit claims and her absolute confusion over the issue. Hopefully I have resolved it for her.

World skills event

Hi All.

Im currently doing mock interviews for the young people attending the world skills event at the auditorium. A fantastic event for improving tge employment skills for young people in northe east lincolnshire. The river banks are being strimmed and tomorrow im repairing 5 alley gates.

Credit union

Hi All. 

After some discussions the credit union were invited to meet the staff at tge job centre today to get them signed up to saver accounts and to promote the good work they do with the community. 

Im happy to have built this bridge and I must thank the job centre for there sterling efforts In supporting myself and the credit union.
