Gilby road

I've just had a look around gilby road stortford street and there is not a thing stirring not even a mouse. This a fantastic result by the police and all the other agencies that took part and of course the long suffering residents.

Ward news

Finally got to grips with 223 corporation road the notice has been served on the owner to sort out their property or the council will do it for them. Its going slowly on the empty homes front but we are starting to get to grips with the problem, I hope not to late. Pot holes are slowly being filled in the area. If we have missed any please let me know. We are pressing on with the river issues and hope that the meeting organised by John from vanel at the end of the month will start the process of asset mapping in the area off well.

Gilby road

Finally a result one of the apparent ring leaders has been arrested and put on remand for 28 days awaiting trial. I am told by the police this has made a marked difference to the area and it has quietened down a great deal. Let us hope we can keep up the pressure and get some closure for the residents of Gilby Road who have suffered enough.

Gilby road

Lots of gang related trouble on Gilby road last weekend with the local yobs pulling down lamp posts and terrorising the local residents. I have got a meeting on Thursday with a cross section of Grimsby police officers to see if we can't tackle this problem. It is looking a little better however as arrests have been made.

Fishing club

I've got a meeting with the new fishing club today at 4pm. By the end of it we should be constituted and have a committee. Then we can start to do some serious planning in the way of future maintenance for the river and to turn it into the showcase that it could be for the west marsh and the Town as a whole.

Gilby road

Today had reports confirmed to me that the yobs in Gilby road did indeed take an angle grinder to the pole that was being installed by the police to mount a camera on and succeeded to cut it down! However tonight the same yobs pulled down the lamp post next to it and it looks like the police were there straight away they have some of them in custody let's hope they can be charged and jailed.

The Pier

I was on the panel today that issued the section 53 order that closed the pier. A very nasty business, I hope the problems can be sorted soon for the good of the borough.
